fans are counting down to the start of Chapter 6, Season 2, which is titled Lawless.
The new season has a February 21 release date on , PlayStation 4, |S, Xbox One, PC, Android and Nintendo Switch.
For the most part, the new update will be available to download and install when downtime kicks off at 7am GMT UK time. That’s 2am ET for fans living in the US.
It’s worth pointing out that according to , the Season 2 update (v34.00) is actually available to pre-load on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S now.
To pre-load the update on Xbox, users are encouraged to visit ‘My Games & Apps > Manage > Updates’ and select the new Fortnite update to install.
PlayStation 5 users should do the following: “Set your PS5 to connect to the internet while in Rest Mode. Go to Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Automatic Updates. Turn on Auto-Download and Auto-Install in Rest Mode.”
Needless to say, a new season means a period of server downtime, which starts at 7am GMT, although matchmaking will be disabled shortly beforehand.
With the launch of the new season, fans can expect server downtime to run for longer than usual. The game is likely to come back online between 10-11am GMT.
Furthermore, the accompanying update is likely to be much bigger than a typical update, so make sure you have enough space on your hard drive before launch.
As you can tell from the Lawless name, the new season encourages criminal activity within the Crime City map.
New POIs include an underground goldmine, bank vaults, a Baron’s Mansion and a train that’s perfect for heisting.
As you can see from the image below, the Battle Pass skins are something of a mixed bag. There’s a new Midas variant, as well as Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat. Scorpion is expected to join the item shop at a later date.
Speaking of Sub-Zero, the MK character will reportedly have a melee Mythic and the ability to dash forward on ice.
In terms of new items and gameplay features, fans will be able to rob Money Vans and vaults.
The Rocket Drill can be used to break down walls, while Armoured Walls can be used for protection. There’s also a plasma burst rifle, an explosive llama, and dual-wield shotgun.
Daily Express will update this article with all the latest information when downtime begins on February 21.
In the meantime, check out the early update 34.00 patch notes below.
