Volvo updates hybrid 2026 XC60 with larger touchscreen

Most changes are minor, but besides a faster-performing infotainment system, there’s a new grille and interior materials, too

  • Volvo just announced a refresh for its upcoming 2026 XC60
  • It will include a new 11.2-inch touchscreen with faster performance
  • Other changes include a new grille, interior materials, and optional items

In Canada, the 2025 version is sold as a mild hybrid – which uses a self-charging 48-volt system to provide fuel-free acceleration assist – and as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV), able to drive for a rated 58 kilometres on electricity alone when it’s been charged, and then reverting to conventional gasoline-electric hybrid operation when that depletes. Volvo said it’s one of the best-selling PHEV models in Canada, as well as in Europe.

The exterior styling refresh is relatively minor, with a new grille, darker rear lights, and new colours and wheel designs. Inside, the XC60 has an improved wireless charger, new cupholders, and new accent materials including quilted and herringbone-weave upholstery.

An 11.2-inch freestanding touchscreen is also new, with a 21% increase in pixel density for an improved display. It uses Google Built-In, but its new platform will be twice as fast as the current system, and this will be standard on all vehicles worldwide.

While Volvo warns that not all global markets will get all of the new features – and so far, Volvo Cars Canada hasn’t specified ours – the automaker said the XC60 will also offer an optional air suspension, laminated windows, and air-purification technology.

A Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity sound system will also be available, and with a new design for its speakers. So far, a Canadian launch date and pricing haven’t been announced for this 2026 XC60, but as soon as we hear something, we’ll let you know.
