Three out of four lanes are closed on the M25 in Surrey between J10 (Cobham) and J9 (Leatherhead) due to an overturned trailer that was carrying a boat.
National Highways warned drivers are facing “severe delays”, with reports mentioning 120 minutes above normal journey times and congestion of approximately nine miles, almost back to J12 (the M3 Junction).
A “specialist recovery” team is currently working at the scene, one lane remains open.
It’s not known if anyone has been hurt, or when lanes two, three and four will reopen.

One lane remains closed after vehicle fire
Lane one of four remains closed on M25 clockwise before J9 A243 (Leatherhead) due to an earlier vehicle fire.
Recovery works are underway.
All lanes reopen
All lanes have now reopened.
However, 10 miles of congestion remain.
A National Highways spokesperson said: “All lanes are now open. The earlier incident involving an overturned trailer carrying a boat has now been cleared.
“Delays of two hours remain, back to J12 #M3, 10 miles of congestion.”
Severe delays of 71 minutes
There are now severe delays of 71 minutes.
There is some good news for drivers caught in the congestion as delays appear to be easing on the M25 anticlockwise between J12 M3 J2 and J9 A243 (Leatherhead).
One lane reopens
One lane has reopened, however two lanes remain closed due to recovery work after a trailer rolled over carrying a boat.
It is unknowna at this time whether there was any injuries.
‘Vehicle fire’ also causing congestion
A vehicle fire is also contributing to heavy congestion along the M25 in Surrey this evening.
This has taken place at J9, according to the AA – with the overturned boat and trailer occurring between J9 and J10.
One lane is reportedly closed.
Severe delays of 88 minutes
National Highways cameras show that long delays remain on the M25 anti-clockwise between J12 and J9.
Delays have dropped slightly to 88 minutes, according to the AA.
The average speed is just five mph.

Where is the incident taking place?
The incident has taken place on the M25 anticlockwise between J9 and J10 after a trailer carrying a boat overturned.
Delays have reached two hours with congestion stretching back to J12 (the M3 Junction).
There are debris on the road J10(Wisley Interchange) to J9 (Leatherhead).
Traffic on the other side is also very slow.

No ‘definite re-opening time’, says National Highways
A “specialist recovery” team is working at the scene after a trailer carrying a boat tipped over on the M25 in Surrey this evening.
The Natioanl Highways say there is no “definite re-opening time” of lanes two, three and four.
A spokesperson for the National Highways said: “Specialist recovery for the boat (which was on the trailer that overturned) is now at scene. 1 lane remains open.
“At the moment I don’t have a definite re-opening time for all lanes.”

Travelling times soar by two hours
Travel times have soared by an extra two hours in the area.
Congestion is stretching approximately nine miles, almost back to J12 (the M3 Junction).
