UK snow maps show 15 cities to be hit by 533-mile barrage in hours – check your area

The UK is bracing itself to be hit with a huge 533-mile barrage of stretching from Ullapool in to Rhayder in mid within the next 48 hours.

Millions across the country could draw back their curtains and uncover snow that is set to start falling at 6am on Saturday.

The Scottish Highlands, in particular Inverness, will see the brunt of the snowfall, – up to 2cm of snow could fall per hour.

Key Scottish cities including Edinburgh and Glasgow are predicted snow with snow depths likely to reach 4cm.

Elsewhere, the West Midlands will see the heaviest snow in England, snow depths could near 5cm. However, it is unknown if this snow will fully settle as rain is also forecast in the area.

Large parts of north and mid Wales are predicted to be blanketed in snow. Here snow depths are likely to be between 3cm-5cm.

As we go throughout the day, the snow shows no signs of slowing down and instead spreads to parts of the North East and North West.

Key cities including Newcastle and Sunderland could see 1.5cm of snow fall per hour. The snowfall is also likely to spread into Aberdeenshire and further into the Scottish Highlands.

The weather forecast for Saturday until Monday warns it will be “often cold” in the east and northeast, with the possibility of “snow moving in from the west and southwest”.

Seperately, in the ‘s weather outlook for Saturday the forecaster is warning that it will be “weakening bands of rain and perhaps snow moving in from the west and southwest”.

The weekend is set to be “dry, often cloudy and cold in the east and northeast”.
