While the couple had been of The Invictus Games in Canada on Saturday, Harry decided to choose humour over romance when it came to a welcome event in Whistler this week.

The couple travelled from Vancouver to Whistler to watch more of the Invictus Games tournament 2025 – an event organised by Harry’s Invictus Foundation, which was formed in 2014 to help injured veterans.

During the welcome event this week, which saw the couple’s friend pop star Michael Buble perform, Harry, 40, asked Meghan to join him on stage before the end of his speech.

The couple then shared a laugh and a hug before waving goodbye to the crowds, with body language expert Judi James explaining that the humour between the pair showed Harry’s “fun side”.

: “Harry loves playful behaviour and banter, but he usually adopts a different tone with Meghan, sticking to more romantic narratives. Here though he brings her into his routine with a flapping hand that suggests good humour rather than any royal graciousness.

“There is some synchronicity here though as she actually seems pretty much in tune with his more fun side.

“At first there is the usual mutual hugging, and Meghan shows empathy by rubbing Harry’s hand to thaw it out in the cold air. “But when he jokes about her singing, her response is speedy as she looks shocked but then equally playful.”

Despite the couple appearing to be having a great time together, to be with the couple’s children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.

It is believed Harry will be staying in Canada until the competition ends on Sunday.

Meghan said at the start of the tournament that both Archie and Lilibet will be “cheering” Harry on from where they have lived since they quit royal life in 2020.
