The National Weather Agency explained that there is a chance of some snow over higher ground in Scotland and Northern England this weekend.
According to the forecaster, snow is likely to be experienced over higher ground in Scotland and Northern England, with a few centimetres possible in the Grampians and 1-2cm in the North Pennines.
The weather forecast aligns with the WXCharts weather maps, which have turned white and purple, indicating the chances of snow in a few areas.
Maps show cities such as Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh and Newcastle witnessing snow showers on Saturday (February 15).

The stated: “Some snow and even some freezing rain could fall to lower levels for a time, though snow is unlikely to settle, and ice is not likely to be a widespread issue.”
Deputy Chief Meteorologist, Mike Silverstone, said: “The high pressure has brought a period of cloudy and dull conditions across much of the UK.
“We do see some change in our weather through the weekend, with rain in the west and the chance of snow further east over higher ground on Saturday.”
According to WXCharts maps prepared using Metdesk data, the temperature is likely to plummet to a chilling 2C in some areas of Scotland.
The freezing temperatures are likely to blast the entire country as the maps suggest low mercury levels across Britain.

However, the weather conditions are likely to turn a bit settled from the next week, the forecaster has predicted.
Mr Silverstone continued: “The cold air will once again push in from the east on Sunday, covering much of the UK by Monday.
“We could see some low overnight temperatures with further frosts, but it will be mostly dry with little chance of further snow.
“We expect to see some brighter conditions by Tuesday, before more mobile and mild conditions move in from the Atlantic during the second half of next week.”
