Amazon Prime Video has given fans a sneak peek into its new action-packed thriller, The Assassin, brought to life by the creators of The Tourist.
Penned by sibling duo Harry and Jack Williams, the series stars Keeley Hawes from Miss Austen and Freddie Highmore from The Good Doctor as skilled combatants.
The plot follows retired hitwoman Julie (Hawes) who is compelled to team up with her estranged son, Edward (Highmore), in a battle for survival.
Their mission becomes more complex as Edward’s parentage is called into question.
Filmed against the beautiful backdrop of Greece, the six-part series promises to be visually stunning. The first look images, unveiled on Thursday (February 13), depict Hawes gazing intensely into the distance on a secluded island.

Discussing the forthcoming drama, the Bates Motel star hinted at an exciting journey ahead, stating: “It doesn’t get better than a Greek adventure alongside the lovely and incomparable Keeley Hawes! I’m really excited for people to glimpse some of what we’ve been up to,”
Highmore expressed his delight at working on the production, saying: “It was a joy to collaborate with such a brilliant cast and crew, and I feel very lucky that Harry and Jack Williams entrusted us with their characteristically thrilling writing… Other than that, all I can say is that it’s going to be quite some six episodes!”
