WASHINGTON – The Senate Judiciary Committee voted Thursday to advance the nomination of Kash Patel to the full Senate, moving him one step closer to being confirmed as President Donald Trump’s next director of the FBI.
The vote was 12–10, along party lines.
The vote came after long-winded speeches from senators from both parties, with Democrats listing all the reasons they view Patel as unqualified and not trustworthy for the job, and Republicans saying he’s fine.
