Escape to the Country couple disappointed as they say ‘it’s not going to work’

A guest on BBC’s popular show Escape to the Country was quick to express her disappointment, confessing that one of the properties on offer simply wasn’t going to cut it.

The beloved daytime programme returned for another episode on Thursday (February 13), with host Jules Hudson leading the way.

Venturing to Warwickshire, Jules was there to help married couple Nigel and Louise, who were eager to return to the UK after a six-year stint in America with their youngest son.

With a generous budget of £800,000, the couple had plenty to work with and were keen to find a spacious home brimming with character and charm.

While viewing the second property, the heavy beams throughout didn’t deter Nigel and Louise as they remained optimistic. However, when Jules, Nigel and Louise stepped outside into the garden, the mood shifted as the noise from nearby cars proved to be an unwelcome distraction.

Observing their displeasure as Nigel held his hand to his ear, Jules remarked: “It’s the road! Attempting to smooth things over and justify the benefits of the home, Jules added: “In an attempt to smooth things over and highlight the home’s advantages, Jules added: “It’s difficult isn’t it? We’ve tried to get you in this hub of where you want to be with family and the rest of it.

“You could pretty much walk to their front doors from here, we thought we absolutely got to show you it,” reports .

Moving swiftly on, Jules began discussing the price, revealing that the property was valued at £850,000.

Louise opened up to the camera, sharing her immediate connection with the property: “The feeling I had when we walked inside, it was kind of like coming home I suppose. When I kept walking through there was something else that I liked and something else that I really liked.”

She then humorously recounted their quick dismissal of another option: “It was more or less the moment we said ‘hmm-mm, sorry, it’s not going to work for us!”

As the show neared its conclusion, Jules was eager to find out if any of the opulent homes caught their eye. Nigel and Louise admitted a preference for the third house and even took a second look at it.

In a twist, Jules revealed that Nigel and Louise ended up purchasing a five-bedroom property in the location they loved.
