has admitted that he doesn’t miss playing tennis despite getting back on the circuit so soon after retiring.

Months after he ended his career at the Paris Olympics, Murray started coaching his old rival .

While he’s happy to sit on the sidelines and analyse, the Brit has no “desire” to play and made a heartbreaking confession that he could no longer even serve.

Murray officially retired at last year’s Olympic Games, entering the men’s doubles event with , where they reached the quarter-final before crashing out. The former No. 1 seemed keen on taking time away from tennis and working on his golf.

But less than four months later, he announced that he would coach Djokovic during the off-season and . Murray was seen in the Serb’s box in Melbourne and even got on the court for an exhibition match with Djokovic.

While the tennis world was delighted to see Murray competing in a light-hearted set of mixed doubles, the three-time Major winner has now admitted he doesn’t miss playing at all.

“I’ve got to go a few things that I’d kind of always wanted to since I finished playing,” Murray said on Chris Hoy’s Sporting Misadventures podcast.

“And yeah, I really enjoyed that side of it. And that’s helped me. I really have not missed playing at all.

“I’ve played, I’ve hit tennis balls like three times since the Olympics, basically, in Paris. And I have no desire to do it right now, and maybe at some stage I will want to play.”

Not only does Murray not want to play – he can’t. Even though he enjoys having a hit, the retired Brit admitted he had lost his skills and could no longer serve.

He continued: “The times that I did, I was terrible. I played so badly, but I actually enjoyed it. Like, I didn’t find it frustrating or anything.

“I hit with some friends and just enjoyed playing even though I can’t really play anymore. I can’t move. My shoulder is gone, I can’t serve.

“But yeah, I just enjoy hitting balls occasionally but it’s not something that I miss or that I really want to do.”

The pair initially agreed to work together at the and, after Djokovic retired in the semi-final, they both said they needed to discuss their future.

According to , they will stay together as long as present discussions go well. The pair are said to be deciding on the best schedule, and next month’s Indian Wells Masters could be their next meeting point.

However, it seems Murray won’t be getting on court with the 24-time Major winner any time soon. Djokovic also works with Carlos Gomez-Herrera, a hitting partner and coach, and Murray will likely leave the tennis up to him.
