Vernon Kay firmly put Good Morning Britain’s Ed Balls in his place with a sharp “Behave yourself,” amidst speculation about The Traitors spin-off on Wednesday (February 12).
While promoting his new dance tour on the ITV morning programme, Vernon was quizzed about the rumoured celebrity edition of The Traitors – set to be hosted by Tess’s colleague Claudia Winkleman.
“Is it the case that you and Tess have been trapped up by Claudia to perhaps make an appearance?” probed.
“Well, it keeps cropping up this Celebrity Traitors. We haven’t been approached, or have we?” Vernon teased.
“You’ve got to be a good liar to be on Celebrity Traitors,” Susanna pointed out, prompting Vernon to playfully respond: “We’re not doing it, or are we? So, we’ll see,” reports .

When Ed Balls pressed on whether Tess could convincingly lie, Vernon shared: “She always laughs when she tells a fib, whereas I’m terrible… I think it’d be an interesting psychological experience that, it’s an amazing show.”
The banter reached its peak as Vernon humorously told Ed to “behave yourself” when further probed about the show, much to the delight of GMB viewers.
Social media reactions were swift, with one viewer exclaiming on X (formerly Twitter): “@GMB @vernonkay telling @edballs to ‘behave yourself!’ has made my day,” and another commenting: “I like Vernon he’s down to earth.”
A star-studded version of The Traitors UK is anticipated later this year, with names like Rebekah Vardy, Rylan Clark, and Clare Balding topping the list of potential participants.

In today’s interview, Vernon also quashed speculation about joining I’m a Celeb: All Stars in South Africa, suggesting he wouldn’t want to tarnish his cherished memories from the main show.
“The thing is, I had such a good time in the castle; I don’t want the experience to be ruined because what you see on air is a stark contrast to what goes on in the castle,” he explained.
Vernon reflected on the camaraderie and the influential women in the group, saying, “We bonded really tightly. We had really powerful women in our group, and I think that was something that the I’m a Celeb people learned. We had amazing people with amazing stories to tell, and we sat and listened – it’s a really powerful trait to have to be able to listen to other people’s stories.”
He wrapped up his thoughts by stating, “It was a joyous experience and I don’t want that to be pushed to one side for something else,” but left a hint of possibility open with a playful remark: “Well, you never know. We’ve all got to keep the central heating on, Susanna.”
