is gearing up to hold a State of Play event, which you can watch right here.
The PlayStation State of Play presentation takes place at 10pm GMT UK time on the evening of February 12.
The State of Play event will run for a whopping 40 minutes, which means fans can expect some pretty major announcements and trailers.
You can watch the entire State of Play event live by clicking play on the YouTube embed below.
The news was announced by Sony, alongside a warning for people planning to stream or capture the event.
“State of Play is back tomorrow, February 12!” reads the Sony statement. “Tune in live for news and updates on great games coming to PS5.
“The show celebrates a creative and unique selection of exciting games from studios around the world.”
Sony also recommends omitting any copyrighted music from video recaps and streams.
“Please note that this broadcast may include copyrighted content (e.g. licensed music) that PlayStation does not control,” the post continues. “We welcome and celebrate our amazing co-streamers and creators, but licensing agreements outside our control could interfere with co-streams or VOD archives of this broadcast.”
Interestingly, Sony only mentions PS5 games, which means we’re unlikely to get any announcements regarding future PSVR 2 releases.
Still, with 40 minutes to fill, it should be a pretty compelling watch, especially if some of the rumours are to be believed.
First up, Sony is expected to announce a new PS5 console bundle containing 2024 game of the year Astro Bot.
Furthermore, Sony recently posted a trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, which was later taken down.
Presumably meant for the State of Play event, the trailer confirmed that the Metal Gear 3 remake will have an August 25 release date.
Elsewhere, there are reports that Sony is planning a new game in the God of War series. While previous reports suggest the series could be heading to Ancient Egypt, others suggest a prequel featuring a young Kratos is in the works.
Trailers for Ghost Of Yotei and Death Stranding 2 are almost guaranteed, and don’t be surprised if we finally get a new Wolverine video.
It’s also rumoured that Fantasy Life could come to PS5, and there’s a chance Sony could use the event to .
Finally, some users on social media think we might get the second GTA 6 trailer during the event, but this seems unlikely.
Me personally, I’ll continue to keep my fingers crossed for that Bloodborne remake or remaster.
