One five-star Google review raved: “This was a surprisingly good movie! The chemistry between Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell is so good!

“I know sometimes these love/hate tropes can be slightly predictable, but this was cute. Just the right amount of cheesiness, chivalry, push and pull and then the characters getting together.”

One die-hard fan of the book by Sally Thorne wrote: “Just finished watching this and I loved it! The Hating Game is one of my favorite romance books and I was pretty satisfied with this movie.

“I feel like they stayed true to the book and really brought it to life. I smiled, I swooned and I laughed. I want my own Joshua Templemann.

“Lucy Hale was so beautiful in this and Austin is so gorgeous. I think those that have read the book will be happy with how this turned out.”

“A pretty accurate adaptation from the book, some lines were taken verbatim which is always a joy and the few adjustments made didn’t really bother me (this is a movie not a season, time constraints ppl!).

“I need more such adaptations for more contemporary romance books.”

“It is romantic, sexy and FULL of chemistry! FINALLY a romantic comedy I’d die for in 2021, they don’t make them like this anymore!” someone else exclaimed.

“I don’t even regret watching it a third time in a row it’s that good and i have ZERO SHAME,” one Hating Game enthusiast admitted.

And a final fan said: “I don’t even know where to begin with this. I thought it was going to be absolutely utter dog s*** and it WAS NOT.

“You know those steamy wattpad books you used to read? This is exactly like if someone made a good one into a movie. It’s perfect. It’s genius. And it genuinely made me cry.”
