Brits looking for a free coffee can now head to Waitrose and in a few simple steps walk away with a steaming hot cup of joe.
Customers don’t even need to spend a penny in the high-end supermarket, according to Martin Lewis’ Money Saving Expert.
For those keen on the deal, all they need to do is download the Waitrose app, create an account and then scan their MyWaitrose card at a self-service coffee machine in any Waitrose supermarket.
However, before you drop what you’re doing and run straight down to Waitrose for a much-needed caffeine hit, there is a catch.

To enjoy a free coffee, you’ve got to bring your own cup. The supermarket, according to Money Saving Expert, will on rare occasions be able to provide disposable cups.
But in general, the self-serve coffee machines do not have disposable cups available to use.
The offer isn’t available in Waitrose Cafes, but for those popping into supermarkets they can claim a regular-sized americano, cappuccino, latte or tea without spending any money. If you’re not a dairy fan, you can choose non-dairy options like oat milk.

Waitrose isn’t the only supermarket making innovations. At the other end of the spectrum, Aldi has installed lockers in 260 of its 1,020 UK stores.
That means customers can collect and return parcels bought online in the participating stores.
“Our customers value convenience, which is why we’re expanding the availability of InPost lockers across more Aldi stores,” said Aldi UK communications director Richard Thornton.
“By adding lockers at more locations nationwide, customers can now collect or return parcels seamlessly while picking up their shopping at Aldi.”
