have reportedly decided to sack long-serving member of staff Jackie Kay, who has worked for the club for 30 years. Kay has been described as a “mum to everyone” but will depart Old Trafford after being handed the devastating news last week.
United are in a transition period on and off the pitch after completed a deal to buy a 27.7 per cent stake in the club last February.
Under the billionaire’s stewardship, the Red Devils have dispensed with the services of 250 staff, with set to be made redundant during a second round of cuts.
According to , Kay will lose her job despite the fact United players and a succession of managers are huge fans of her.
Kay, who joined the club in 1995, is currently the head of team operations at Old Trafford. She previously worked as David Gill’s executive assistant when he was chief executive and has also had a stint in charge of first team logistics.
Her impending exit has been described as ‘brutal’ and could crush morale, with her departure part of a wider overhaul under Sir Dave Brailsford and Jason Wilcox. It is not thought to be linked to the other redundancies.

Former United star Ashley Young was a huge proponent of Kay during his time at Old Trafford. And the Everton player previously stated: “She’s just brilliant. She’s like the mum to everyone.
“If there are any problems or there is anything we need sorting out it’s a case of, ‘Jackie can you do this, Jackie can you help with this.’
“I’m sure there are times when she looks at her phone when it’s ringing and she must think, ‘No, I’m not answering.’ But she’s always there for you.”

United have endured another difficult season on and off the pitch as Ratcliffe’s changes begin to take shape.
Former Red Devils manager was dismissed at the end of October after an underwhelming start to the campaign, with succeeding him in the Old Trafford hot seat after leaving Sporting.
But Amorim has fared little better than his predecessor, with United still in the same position in the Premier League as they were when the Dutchman departed.
The north west giants are 13th in the table and are just 12 points above the relegation zone. They are still in the mix for silverware, however, as they have reached the Europa League knockout rounds as well as the fifth round of the FA Cup.
