When AlphaTauri announced Verstappen as their new brand ambassador, some of the Dutchman’s rivals were not shocked. Norris, who pushed the four-time world champion for the title in 2024, commented: “no way????” on the official post, expressing his reaction with more than a hint of sarcasm.

“I always like the AlphaTauri styles; it‘s very classy,” Verstappen told the AlphaTauri website. “It‘s a good fit and very comfortable. There are other brands where it can look cool, but it‘s not comfortable to wear. With AlphaTauri, what I like is that it looks slick, it looks really stylish, and it‘s really great to wear.”

As AlphaTauri will be fitting Verstappen out for Grand Prix weekends, the sensation was also asked about his favourite travel destinations. “Everyone should see it once in a lifetime,” he replied.

“Travel to Japan, for sure. Austin is also a really cool place; Miami too. In Europe, a lot of the more traditional tracks are amazing. It‘s often the track for me that defines the place; sometimes it‘s the city.”

Norris will hope that he can challenge the freshly-styled Verstappen again in 2025. The Brit started the 2024 campaign with machinery that paled in comparison to the RB20, but by the end of the year, had fought back to win the Constructors’ Championship.

The Woking-based team are continuing their quest for trophies with a brave new approach for the upcoming season. “We’re going into next year at full strength,” Racing CEO told Motorsport.com.

“I think we’re in a different mindset now in terms of the confidence of the team and the amount of bravery that the team is prepared to take in the development in next year’s car. The team is not [saying]: ‘Let’s just tweak a little here and there. The car is pretty good.’

“We’ve got some stuff on next year’s car that is [a] ‘brave risk.’ I think you only get to the front if you try and beat everyone, as opposed to the mindset when we started this year, which was like: ‘Let’s just be as good as them.’ The mind shift is now: ‘Let’s beat everyone.’”
