Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had a wild 24 hours of golf that senior professionals such as would shudder to endure.
The reigning NFL MVP is among several of his colleagues to take to the links during their time off, but Allen has taken his obsession one step further, a playing partner has revealed.
has detailed an immense 24 hours he witnessed, describing Allen’s dedication to golf as a “sickness”, beginning with a morning 18 holes at Sea Islands in Georgia.
He then dashed away to sign a restructured contract, opening up £13.4million cap space for his team, by converting the majority of his compensation for the season into a signing bonus.
Back at Seaside Golf Course, the 28-year-old played another round of 18, then hit golf balls until 1am inside King Cottage at the resort.
Taking matters further, Allen was back on the range the following day at 7am, but complained that his driver was “too spinny” and immediately had a new fitting inside the hour at the performance centre.

Allen then drove directly to Ohoopee Match Club in Cobbtown to play another 36 rounds of golf, with Bannon mentioning that the NFL superstar made sure to tip the entire staff and discussed golf rather than American football.
Even seasoned veterans would not dare to spend so much time honing their talents, with McIlroy admitting that he considers being on the course the best form of practice.
“I listened to an interview with Bob Rotella a few weeks ago and he said: ‘Golf is the only sport where you don’t practice on the playing field’, which I thought was a very good statement,” McIlroy told the . “Why do we stand on this range that’s 80 yards wide and hit the targets that don’t mean anything?
“I used to practice a lot, I’m of the mindset now that I think the best thing you can do is go out and play golf; put yourself in certain positions by getting up and down from funny lies; that’s the game. That’s the game we play. My thinking on that has definitely evolved over the last few years.”
Though Allen and McIlroy may differ in their approach to practice, they have developed a blossoming bromance in recent years.
The Northern Ireland star was given an official welcome to the ‘Bills Mafia’ by Allen and Von Miller at Oak Hill Country Club, where McIlroy and Allen both hold memberships.
“It certainly makes it easier to root for the Bills when Josh Allen is throwing the football,” McIlroy said at the time. “I know he’s a big golf fan.”
