Viewers of The Chase were left frustrated as they slammed the popular quiz show, claiming it has “never been this bad”.
On Wednesday’s episode, presenter Bradley Walsh welcomed a new set of contestants aiming to win big.
Initially, hopes were high when contestant Jack accumulated an impressive £8,000 in his cashbuilder. However, disappointment quickly set in as Jack opted for the lower offer of £3,000 when facing chaser Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty, only to be caught out.
The downward spiral continued with contestant Laura meeting a similar fate. As the episode failed to improve, disgruntled fans took to social media to voice their discontent.
One irate viewer exclaimed: “This game show has gone down the pan, everyone takes the low offer, never was this bad.”

Another viewer echoed the sentiment, saying: “I’ve wasted enough time on this I’m off,” reports .
A third fan expressed their exasperation, writing: “It literally gets worse by the day. What’s wrong with our country.”
A fourth viewer chimed in, criticising the show for encouraging contestants to take the lower offer, calling it “They really need to stop encouraging people to go low! Getting boring and pointless.”
With Laura and Jack eliminated early, the remaining contestants, Alex and Tony, were left to carry the hopes of making it to the final.

When faced with the formidable “top form” of chaser Anne, contestants Alex and Tony opted for lower offers, leaving a modest £2,000 in their collective pot. Despite answering 11 questions correctly together, the duo couldn’t outwit the chaser.
Nonetheless, this outcome sparked an uproar among viewers at home, with some feeling dissatisfied with how the episode concluded.
One disgruntled fan commented: “Well… it’s over. We should be pleased that we got through to the end. But we should also be ashamed that we’re never going to get these 60 minutes back.”
Meanwhile, another viewer threw shade with: “Bradders: The team go home empty handed. Yeah, because a grand each would have been a life changer.”
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1
