The trailer for DreamWorks’ anticipated remake of How To Train Your Dragon has just dropped, and fans are bracing themselves for an emotional rollercoaster.
The live-action adaptation of the cherished animation sparked mixed reactions when the production company released its initial teaser in November, with some arguing that it was too soon after the 2010 original.
However, the latest two-minute sneak peek seems to have reassured some doubters. The trailer showcases Hiccup, portrayed by Mason Thames, grappling with his inability to harm an injured dragon, leading to an unlikely friendship.
Echoing the animated classic, the preview includes a pivotal moment where young Viking Hiccup encounters a dragon he later names Toothless, discovering the creature’s benign nature.

Set on the mythical island of Berk, the narrative follows a teenage Viking who deviates from his village’s custom of battling dragons when he stumbles upon an injured one.
The latest trailer has fans witnessing the protagonist grappling with his identity as an outlaw. “I’m the first Viking who wouldn’t kill a dragon,” he admits to his confidante Astrid (Nico Parker), who promptly reassures him: “First to ride one, though.”
The sneak peek has sparked a wave of enthusiasm on social media, with viewers expressing their anticipation. One fan exclaimed: “Now THIS is how you do a live-action remake of a great animated film.”
