Emmerdale favourite’s return ‘sealed’ in shock Tate twist – and Kim will be speechless

‘s Kim Tate, played by Claire King, could be in for a shock as the soap may see the return of another member of the Tate dynasty.

The past year has been tumultuous for Kim, with her husband Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) suffering a fatal heart attack at Christmas and her estranged step-grandson Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) making a surprise return after six years.

Joe has since made himself at home in the village, even moving into Home Farm with Kim. However, his health issues and sudden interest in building a relationship with his brother Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) suggest he’s hiding something significant.

Kim, suspecting that Joe—who has begun an affair with her stepdaughter Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley)—has ulterior motives for returning to the Dales, resorted to bugging his room to eavesdrop on his conversations. But her laptop was swiped by (Emma Atkins), who also harbours suspicions about Joe.

After listening to the audio files, Charity uncovered the truth about Joe and Dawn’s affair and has since used this information to blackmail him. Yet, fans are predicting an even bigger twist: the return of Jean Tate, daughter of Zoe Tate (Leah Bracknell) and Scott Windsor (Ben Freeman).

This potential comeback has sparked excitement among viewers, who believe it could stir up even more drama for the Tate family, reports Leeds Live.

Jean Tate, the step-granddaughter of ‘s , was portrayed by Megan Pearson and graced the screens for the first time in January 2003. However, her stint on the show came to an end in September 2005 when she departed for New Zealand with her mother Zoe.

Fans have been clamouring for her return, with one viewer expressing their thoughts on a thread: “I want to see them bring in Jean. The Tates are classic , definitely one of the most interesting families the show has ever had. Kim has been the only Tate for a while and putting her with Will and co was a massive mistake.”

The same fan continued to outline the potential for reviving the Tate family’s prominence in the soap: “Bringing Joe back has been great and if they brought back Jean, they could have a real opportunity to build up the Tates again.

“The show really needs to move on from focusing so much on the Dingles and start investing in other families. And I think the Tates would be a good start.”

This sentiment resonated with other viewers, as another chimed in with enthusiastic agreement: “Read my mind!” A third fan also concurred, noting the narrative possibilities given Jean’s age and family connections: “I completely agree as she would be in her early 20s and Zoe did leave with both Jean and Joe so they definitely grew up together.”
