Ireland coach guards against Cardiff complacency
Ireland interim coach Simon Easterby has dismissed suggestions his side are heavy favourites against Wales on February 22.
“We know that it’s a hell of a place to go and play, the roof will be closed, the atmosphere will be like it is every time we play in the Millennium (Principality) Stadium against Wales, 75,000 passionate people that want and will their team to success.
O’Mahony thanks Scotland fans
Peter O’Mahony has jokingly mocked Scottish fans for a ‘compliments’ at Murrayfield on Sunday.
Speaking on Ireland’s 32-18 win, he said: “I think someone said I got a fairly savage boo when I came off, potentially one of the biggest compliments of my career, in 111 Test matches, so thanks Murrayfield, I appreciate it.”
France dealt Ntamack blow
France No.10 Romain Ntamack will miss the Six Nations trip to Italy due to suspension despite attempts to make him available.
The 25-year-old was banned for three weeks for a high tackle in the win over Wales on January 31, with the punishment then reduced by a week after he completed a tackle safety programme.
The French Rugby Federation hoped Toulouse’s French Top 14 visit to Clermont on Sunday would count, making Ntamack free to play the Azzurri on February 23. According to AFP, Six Nations organisers have rejected the claim that the club fixture is included.
