Prince William and Princess Kate’s adorable nicknames for Princess Charlotte

While the couple are often busy juggling royal duty with home life, there is no doubt that the Prince and Princess of Wales

As well as showing their love and adoration for George, 11, Charlotte, nine, and Louis, six, through their actions, such as spending time with them, doing the school run, and taking them on days out, the couple also have sweet nicknames for the young royals they use at home and in public.

This includes nicknames for their only daughter Princess Charlotte.

One of these sweet pet names is a French word used by William, with the prince having first been heard using it when the family had visited the Chelsea Flower Show in 2019 to see the ‘Back to Nature Garden’ that Princess Kate had co-created.

As the future King played on a rope swing in the corner of the garden, he called out to his daughter to give him a push.

Rather than calling out her name, he called her “Mignonette”, which is reportedly a French word meaning “small, sweet, and delicate” or “cute”.

This is the only time the prince has been heard using this nickname, which is believed to be one of a few held by the young princess, who also goes by the name Lottie.

This was revealed by her mum Princess Kate, 43, when she was chatting to members of the public in Northern Ireland. In a conversation about children, Kate referred to her daughter as Lottie – a sweet nickname often used by people with the name Charlotte.

While these may be the nicknames the young princess goes by at home, it appears she has a more basic name when she is at school that removes her royal titles to help her fit in with fellow students.

At Lambrook School, as she uses her parent’s royal title as her surname. This is also used by her brothers George and Louis, who at school are known as George Wales and Louis Wales.

However, like Charlotte, her brothers have different nicknames at home with their parents, with , a nickname that he was first called by friends, with the PG reportedly standing for Prince George.

Kate then during a family outing to a scout hut in 2023 as part of the King’s Coronation weekend, sending fans into a frenzy over the sweet nickname.
