McRae won the 2024 Juno for Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for her hit Greedy, while Ross has enjoyed a string of big singles since releasing his third album, titled Complicated, last March. Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd follow with four nominations each.

The four nominations for The Weeknd bring the Toronto star to a total of 22 Juno Award nominations over the years, edging three nods closer to breaking Anne Murray’s current nomination record of 25.

“Congratulations to all the incredible artists nominated for The 2025 Juno Awards, and a special shoutout to the B.C. artists — your talent, passion, and creativity continue to make our province a powerhouse in Canadian music!” noted Spencer Chandra Herbert, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport. “We can’t wait to celebrate your success right here at home in Vancouver.”
