The entertainment world is mourning the loss of esteemed actor Peter Navy Tuiasosopo, who has passed away at 61, as confirmed by his son. The actor appeared in NCIS and Magnum P.I.
Renowned for roles in blockbuster hits like Street Fighter and Fast and the Furious, Tuiasosopo’s death was announced on Monday morning through a poignant Facebook post by his son, Manoah Peter Tuiasosopo, which read: “With a heavy heart, my family and I want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Our father Peter N. Tuiasosopo passed away this morning at 3:16am.”
Manoah’s tribute continued, “My dad lived an amazing life and in no way does his impact stop here. We will continue to live with him in spirit, and as saddened as we are, he is without a doubt in Heaven with his brothers, sisters, parents, daughter, and Jesus, and no longer in pain.”
He further commemorated his father’s legacy, saying: “His strength, love, compassion, and kindness will forever be felt.”
Sources including TMZ have reported that Tuiasosopo succumbed to heart complications in Phoenix, Arizona.

Launching his acting career in 1991, Peter Navy Tuiasosopo quickly amassed a notable list of credits, appearing in the 2021 Magnum PI reboot and TV series such as Mayans MC, New Girl, Black-ish, Ray Donovan, and NCIS.
Tuiasosopo’s most memorable performance may well be his portrayal of E-Honda in the 1994 film Street Fighter, where he starred alongside Jean Claude Van Damme, Kylie Minogue, Ming-Na Wen, and Raul Julia, bringing to life the iconic character from the beloved video game franchise.
The actor not only made a mark with his role in the film but also starred in a slew of hits including Fast and the Furious, Charlie’s Angels, The Scorpion King, Basketball, and Austin Powers: Goldmember.
As he etched his name into entertainment history, Peter also stood as a beacon for diversity, becoming one of the most notable Polynesian actors to grace the screen in recent times, his success carving a path for fellow islanders to follow.
Details of his funeral are yet to be revealed. However, his family is arranging a ceremony to celebrate his life soon.
Social media has been awash with tributes, with one fan lamenting, “Very sad. Forever remember him in BaseketBall,” and another sharing, “I didn’t even know he was sick.”
A third fan expressed their condolences: “I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending love, thoughts, and prayers to you and your family during this difficult time.”
Meanwhile, a fourth conveyed their sympathies: “I’m so sorry for your loss manoah my condolences to you and your beautiful family your dad was an amazing man! Sending lots of love and hugs! “.
Many others simply posted “Rest in peace” as they joined in mourning the beloved star.
