The beloved sitcom Malcolm in the Middle is set for a reboot, with confirmation coming last year. Here’s all we know so far about the upcoming series, including lead actor Frankie Muniz’s insights.
In December of the previous year, announced that Malcolm in the Middle would be making a comeback with a four-episode limited run, accompanied by a humorous video featuring Muniz, 39, alongside his on-screen parents Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek. The revival has been ten years in the making, with Muniz and co-star Cranston, 68, working tirelessly to bring it to fruition.
Breaking Bad icon and Emmy award-winner Cranston will also be contributing his writing talents to the new episodes. The fresh instalments will catch up with Malcolm and his unruly family in their current lives.
While there’s no confirmed release date yet, fans are hopeful it could coincide with this year’s 25th anniversary of the original series. Confirmed cast members include Muniz, Cranston reprising his role as the immature father Hal, and Kaczmarek, 69, returning as the perpetually beleaguered mother Lois.
Muniz hinted at the introduction of new characters after revealing to People that he had participated in some chemistry reads, but remained coy about further details. The original main cast included Christopher Kennedy Masterson as Francis, Justin Berfield as Reese, and Erik Per Sullivan as Dewey, reports the .

[UPDATE] [INTERVIEW]
Former child star turned racing driver Muniz recently shared his thoughts on revisiting the early 2000s children’s show that catapulted him to fame, making an unexpected revelation.
During a candid interview, Frankie Muniz shared an amusing anecdote about revisiting his iconic show Malcolm in the Middle with his partner, model Paige Price.

This revelation led Muniz to express his shock, as he humorously criticised Malcolm as “sucked” and labeled him “the worst character” on the show.
The celebrated sitcom, which followed the life of a child genius coping with teenage years and a chaotic household, aired for seven successful seasons from 2000 to 2006, totalling 151 episodes.
Malcolm in the Middle has since been enshrined as one of the finest sitcoms ever, boasting a haul of seven Emmy Awards and securing seven Golden Globe nominations throughout its duration.
