and have both singled out Ryan Joyce as the worst-dressed darts player on tour.

-born Joyce ran Littler close in the fourth round of this year’s , with ‘The Nuke’ hitting his stride late in the contest to come away with a 4-3 win. Joyce is well-known for his reliability on the outer ring, but he also has a less favourable reputation among some of his fellow pros.

In the build-up to night two of in Glasgow this week, the eight players involved were asked by whose wardrobe could use some work.

With a smile, Littler immediately named Joyce. Bunting agreed and did not hold back, saying: “Some of the clobber that he wears is pretty horrendous, to be honest. You wouldn’t find me in it. But if that’s what he’s used to, then happy days.”

Joyce, who is ranked 29th in the world and fell some way short of making the Premier League cut, was not the only player in the firing line.

Gerwyn Price name-dropped his fellow Welshman, Jonny Clayton, in his answer to the same question. And Nathan Aspinall let loose on Premier League counterpart Chris Dobey, smirking: “Worst dressed? Dobey. He still wears full football kits at 34.”

Luke Humphries, who won the Premier League’s opening night in Belfast last week, went after Daryl Gurney. “I’m sorry,” he said. “Just because he does like his trackies which don’t suit his shoes. So sorry Daryl, I do apologise, but it’s you.”

Dobey trails Humphries in the early Premier League standings after making it to the final in Northern Ireland. World No. 11 Dobey did not receive a call-up to last year’s competition but made it in this time round, partly thanks to a strong performance at the Ally Pally last month.

Michael van Gerwen banked two points in the opening week after a scintillating win over Littler. But he was left kicking himself after letting a semi-final against Humphries slip through his fingers.

Rob Cross defeated Bunting to put two points on the board, but he was then defeated by Dobey. ‘Voltage’ has since prevailed at Players Championship 1, which could make him a dangerous prospect in Glasgow.

Littler, Price, Bunting and Aspinall are all yet to get off the mark and will be desperate for the points to start rolling in.
