Amazon is selling the Google Pixel 8 for just £399, a 43 percent discount on the £699 RRP.

Best of all, you don’t need Amazon Prime to get this special price.

Originally released in 2023, the is still a top phone choice, with guaranteed software support and updates until 2023, great dual cameras, a relatively compact build with a 6.2-inch OLED screen with zippy 120Hz refresh rate and solid performance thanks to the Tensor G3 chip tucked inside.

This special price is a ‘’ only for the Rose colour of the Pixel 8. These sorts of deals don’t stick around for long on Amazon, but there’s no specific advertised end time.

The 128GB phone usually costs £699, which is still a good price for the phone, but . Though it has since been superseded by the Pixel 9, there’s not an awful lot of difference between the phones, and the Pixel 9 will set you back £799. The £400 saving on the Pixel 8 is well worth a look.

With curved edges, the Pixel 8 is a smaller phone in all dimensions compared to the Pixel 9, and it receives regular monthly software updates that largely keep it on par with the newer model. Because Google makes Android, Pixel phones are usually the first to receive these updates, a great reason to go Pixel instead of Android alternatives from companies such as Samsung.

The Pixel 8 has several clever AI features that are exclusive to Pixel phones such as the call screening that can answer potential spam calls for you and speak to the person using AI. These tools also extend to the camera where you can change the look of photos by adjusting the lighting, remove wind and other unwanted noises from videos, or even seamlessly erase people or objects from your snaps.

Add to that IP68 water and dust resistance and a scratch-resistant screen and the Pixel 8 is a lot of phone for, at the moment, not a lot of money.

One of the best things about this deal is you don’t have to be an Amazon Prime member to get the special price. Limited time deals on Amazon are open to anyone, unlike deals on Amazon Prime Day and other sales events where the tech giant only lets Prime subscribers in on the savings.

If you do have Prime though, you’ll be able to claim free one-day delivery on the £399 Pixel 8.

The phone launched with Android 14 but is already upgradeable to the newest Android 15. Given Google will support it until 2030, you may find you’ll end up with Android 21 in five years from now. Only Samsung can currently rival this level of software support in the smartphone world.
