has been dragged into a fresh dose of controversy by his former team-mate, .
Rashford joined Sancho on the list of loaned-out United players when he signed for this winter. It is the first time Rashford has played for any team other than the Red Devils since the 27-year-old graduated from their academy nearly a decade ago.
And it was a surreal sight to see him pull on the claret and blue Villa jersey on Sunday afternoon, when ‘s side defeated in the fourth round. Rashford looked lively after coming off the bench and marked his debut with an which thanked supporters for their warm welcome.
Sancho, who is still on United’s books until activate his obligation-to-buy clause at the end of the season, raised more than a few eyebrows when he commented ‘freedom’ under the pictures of Rashford in his new Villa attire.
Having fallen out with , Sancho endured a tough time at Old Trafford and spent months completely out of the first-team picture. Rashford found himself in a similar situation when new manager was left unimpressed by his application in training.
However, claim that Rashford ‘did not appreciate’ Sancho’s comment. The report adds that he does not want to get dragged into any lingering animosity between Sancho and United, having previously made it clear that he would only ever end his association with the club on friendly terms.

“When I leave it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’,” he told journalist in December. “You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about . That’s me as a person.
“If I know that a situation is already bad I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person. When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me.”
Villa reportedly have a option to make Rashford’s move permanent at the end of the season. And if he can build on his electric cameo against Spurs, the West Midlands outfit will surely be tempted to trigger it.
But some feel Rashford subtly made it clear that he has no intentions of sticking around in an interview with Villa’s .
“Obviously it’s only short-term I’m here,” he said. “So I want to make the most of my time here, and the only way to do that is by using my attributes and my skillset to help the team.”
