Minister for Skills, Baroness Jacqui Smith appeared on this morning, where host Ben Leo asked her if she was trying to “mimic Reform”.
Ben said: “Why is Labour in the North East and the North West pumping anti-migration adverts?”
Baroness Smith responded: “No, were trying to do as I did back in 2007, a proper border system. We are not interested in gimmicks. We’re interested in action that will make a difference.”
However despite her justification for the adverts, users on social media platform, X, were quick to call the move from Labour a “performance.”

One commented: “This is all a pantomime. They paid these few people to get on the plane. No doubt they’ll be back next week. Why is Smith still around? Another one who abused expenses. Is it any wonder there are so many grifters in the Labour Party?”
Another remarked: “Do these Labour stooges not realise that their rapid eye blinking shows us their lies.”
A third remarked: “State of politicians today. Power makes The unprecedented move is part of a drive by the new Government to try to show it is taking tough action on those with no right to live or work in Britain. men greedy and women woke.”

The recent unprecedented action is a significant part of an initiative launched by the newly established Government, aimed at demonstrating its commitment to enforcing strict measures against individuals who lack the legal right to reside or work in the United Kingdom.
In a striking two-and-a-half-minute video, viewers can observe multiple foreign nationals, some appearing in restraints, as they are methodically escorted onto a specially chartered aircraft designed for deportations.
The footage provides a detailed glimpse into the operation, capturing each individual being guided from a waiting bus parked on the airport tarmac.
The scene unfolded with each foreign national being escorted—one at a time—under the careful watch of four security personnel, who accompany them up the covered steps leading to the aircraft.
This organised approach underscores the Government’s resolve to take definitive action against immigration irregularities. Each offender is monitored closely throughout the process, ensuring security and order during the transfer.
Several were seen wearing restraints around their wrists, which were fastened to a strapping around their waists.
GB News has been told that roughly one in ten of those deported are “non-compliant” and require some form of restraint.
