Death in Paradise fans say same thing about Marlon Pryce’s replacement as character killed

On Friday night, introduced its latest police officer to Saint Marie – Sebastian Rose (played by Shaquille Ali-Yebuah).

However, the new officer’s appearance divided fans, and many took to social media to share their thoughts. While some loved the new addition, others demanded the return of Marlon Pryce (Tahj Miles).

Sebastian originally replaced the Saint Marie police force’s latest recruit, Benjamin (Anthony J. Abraham), who was killed off in the first episode.

Taking to a Facebook fan page to share their thoughts on Sebastian, one fan wrote: “It is so good to see another talented actor with a beautiful Caribbean accent.”

“The best addition,” another penned, while a third added: “It is nice to see the new one is a rough diamond. As for his problem, as a team, they can deal with it.”

Someone else stated: “Officer Rose, looking forward to more of him.”

However, other fans seem to miss some of the previous officers, including Marlon, Fidel, and even JP Hooper (Tobi Bakare), who recently made his return in the first episode.

“I would love to see JP back; I miss Dwayne and Marlon,” one fan wrote.

Another echoed: “I miss Camille and Florence.”

While someone else pleaded: “Bring back Marlon, please.”

Sebastian isn’t the only new face to join the Saint Marie police force, as at the helm is new detective Mervin Wilson (Don Gilet).

In his latest interview on ITV’s Lorraine, Don shared a filming update and confirmed he would be returning to his role.

“When are you back to the sunshine then?” Lorraine Kelly asked.

To which Don replied: “Unfortunately, it is about April time, end of April.”

Death in Paradise returns on Friday at 9pm on One.
