Drivers planning to rent a vehicle have been urged that could see them pay significantly more than they were expecting.

However, Harry Anapliotis, CEO of , urged all motorists to research the company and its policies before booking a hire car.
He advised: “Well-informed research can provide insights into optimal booking times and locations. Rental based on demand, location, and seasons.
“By understanding these dynamics, you can book your rental strategically, leading to improved availability and better pricing.”

First, Rental Center Crete recommended that all drivers thinking about hiring a vehicle check if there are any mileage limitations listed in the policy.
In a bid to protect the value of their fleet, various rental companies will impose daily mileage caps on their vehicle, charging hefty penalties for motorists who break them.
As a result, if a driver knows that they will be covering long distances in the car, it is advisable to check whether the company has an unlimited mileage policy.

Similarly, Harry suggested that rental drivers opt for a ‘full-to-full’ policy to avoid having to spend money on petrol before they can use the car.
He added: “Opt for a ‘full-to-full’ policy where you receive the car with a full tank and return it the same way. Full-to-full is usually the fairest deal as you only pay for the fuel you actually use.”
Nevertheless, drivers who choose a ‘full-to-full’ policy must make sure to top up the tank before giving the vehicle back in order to avoid penalty charges.
Finally, the company recommended that drivers never get behind the wheel of a rental car they have not thoroughly checked for damage, such as scratches and dents.
If there are any signs of damage on the vehicle, Harry suggested that drivers take photographs, which can help them prove to the rental company that they were not responsible.
He continued: “Take photos and make sure any dents, scratches, or issues are documented in your rental agreement. This prevents you from being held responsible for damage you didn’t cause.”
