After a two-year wait, fans of the “Yellowstone” prequel “1923” finally have a release date for Season 2.
The Paramount+ series first premiered in December 2022 and is set nearly a century before the original series. “1923” follows Cara and Jacob Dutton (Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford) on their journey through the mountains of the Western U.S. in the early 20th century.
The highly anticipated sophomore season is set to debut this February. Before the season premiere, we’re breaking down everything you need to know to tune in for all the action.
When does ‘1923’ Season 2 start?
Season 2 of “1923” will premiere on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025 at 12 a.m. ET with one episode. Subsequent episodes will drop weekly on Sundays at the same time.

What will happen in Season 2?
Many familiar faces are returning for “1923” Season 2, including Ford, Mirren, Timothy Dalton, Jerome Flynn, Brian Geraghty, Darren Mann, Isabel May, Aminah Nieves, Robert Patrick, Michelle Randolph, Sebastian Rouche, Julia Schlaepfer and Brandon Sklenar.
A trailer for Season 2 shows Cara and Jacob Dutton attempting to defend their ranch as they come up against “harsh conditions and adversaries,” per a press release.
“This is a hard winter. I pray Spencer can get here,” Cara says to her husband in the trailer.
Meanwhile, Spencer (played by Sklenar) has “an arduous journey home” as he navigates his way to Montana while dodging enemies along the way.
Elsewhere, Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) “sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love.”
