Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs sensation, has stirred up a bit of controversy among Taylor Swift’s fans after expressing his excitement about playing in front of US President at Sunday’s Super Bowl.
Despite Trump planning to be the first sitting president to attend the event, Kelce’s comments have raised eyebrows given his girlfriend Taylor’s public disapproval of Trump and support for his opponent during the last election.

“That’s awesome, it’s a great honour,” the NFL star remarked about the prospect of Trump’s attendance. “No matter who the president is, I know I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life. Having the president there, it’s the best country in the world and that’s pretty cool.”
The relationship between Taylor and Trump became tense during the presidential campaign when Taylor threw her support behind Harris, leading Trump to lash out on his social media platform Truth, saying he “hated” the singer. However, he also mentioned that he liked Travis, adding, “even though he may be a liberal and probably can’t stand me!”

Trump has not held back from praising Travis’ teammate, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who also seemed pleased with the news of Trump watching the game. “I didn’t see that clip but obviously it’s cool to hear that he’s seen me play football and respects the game that I play,” said Patrick.
“It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president, someone in the top position in our country.”
