Taylor Swift fans turn on Travis Kelce over Trump Super Bowl remarks

Kansas City Chiefs star has found himself in hot water with fans after comments about President attending the in New Orleans.

During a press conference ahead of the game, Kelce described Trump’s presence as “an honour,” adding: “It’s awesome. It’s a great honour, I think, no matter who the president is.

“I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life and having the president there — it’s the best country in the world — and that’s pretty cool.”

However, the remarks didn’t sit well with Swift’s loyal fanbase, known as Swifties. Trump, 78, has been vocal about his disdain for the pop icon, even declaring publicly that he “hates” her after she endorsed during the 2024 presidential election.

Swift at the time commented: “We can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to air their grievances. “If my boyfriend says it’s a great honor to have the man that slanders me constantly, I would break up with him immediately,” one user wrote. Another declared: “No Travis, it’s not awesome or an honor for that man to be there. His whole answer was just… yikes.”

Some were quick to accuse Kelce of failing to defend his girlfriend. “He literally talked s**t about his girlfriend and he’s honored?????” one fan exclaimed, while another called him “spineless.”

Despite the backlash, sources claim Swift is unbothered by the controversy. “Taylor is not angry at Travis for what he said,” an insider told DailyMail.com. “Although Travis’s quote was taken as he supports Trump, this is not what Travis said at all.”

The source clarified that Kelce’s comments were meant diplomatically. “He never actually even said the word Trump. Travis was speaking on behalf of his entire team and all of his fans when he said it is an honor to have the President of the United States at the game, and he would have said the same thing regardless of who the president was.”

She explained: “Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight. If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most.
