NFL fans were left baffled as the was paused for a “breaking news” announcement.
The game saw an invader on the field, with a commentator urgently reporting: “Sorry folks, there’s a breaking development!”
Footage showed the field and spectators as usual – as an object streaked across the astroturf. Soon, however, all was revealed, as the NFL game had subtly cut to an ad break, and the intrusion was all staged.
In fact, it was in the name of a trailer for the live action release of Lilo and Stitch – and the blue blur running across the pitch was the animated icon.
The commentary continued: “There’s something down on the field! Looks like a koala or a dog or a…” as officials scrambled to capture Stitch with trash cans.

He soon grabbed the wheels to a cart and crashed into a goalpost, before snatching a microphone and speaking into it, branded “indestructible” by the commentators.
The new Disney film has a confirmed US release date of May 23rd, 2025.
Fans took to social media to share their bafflement, with one writing: “Genuinely thought someone had invaded the field haha!”

Another posted: “Wait you can do Super Bowl movie ads that are not just trailers? Alert the media!”
Somebody else said: “This is how you market. They show the true side of the character and are creative! Makes me so excited for the movie.”
And another echoed: “Oh my god. My dad even called me about this.”
