Slim Chickens, the renowned US fast food favourite, has announced a bold expansion plan to spice up the UK dining scene by opening 16 new outlets across the nation. The brand’s first UK location debuted in 2020 and quickly amassed fans with its buttermilk-marinated tenders and crispy wings.
Originally hailing from Arkansas where it launched in 2003, Slim Chickens now boasts 200 locations domestically and is beefing up its British presence, targeting London, the northeast, southeast, Midlands, Wales, and Scotland for its new eateries. With plans to unveil two new sites each month for the rest of 2025, the fast food chain’s UK footprint will see a significant increase from its current 58 venues, celebrating its latest opening in Bridgend, Wales.
Slim Chickens is also dishing out 10,000 “Golden Tickets” that offer lucky diners the chance to win a year’s supply of free chicken, and restaurant offerings include tenders, boneless bites, and wraps.
Diners can also get their hands on 14 dipping sauces ranging from cayenne ranch and Korean barbecue to honey mustard and buffalo, while comfort food fans can indulge in American-style milkshakes available in various flavours.
The first of the new sites will open in Leicester Square, Wembley and Edgeware Road, with more restaurant locations opening in the West Midlands, Swansea, East Midlands, Reading and Newcastle.
Slim Chickens is ruffling feathers in the fast food market with some customers claiming it has outclassed KFC. A rave review on TripAdvisor by Wesley G proclaims: “A better fast food outlet than KFC. Tenders are tasty and a large range of dips.”
He also added: “Expensive for fast food, but fast and efficient with friendly helpful staff.”
