ITV fans switch off Super Bowl coverage minutes in as they’re left fuming

fans weren’t happy with as they switched off minutes into the NFL coverage.

The game – hosted this year at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans – kicked off around 11:30pm UK time on Sunday, February 9. Viewers in the UK were given the choice between streaming the event on ITV, Sky Sports or Amazon Prime.

But just moments into the coverage, ITV fans offered the same complaint. When one fan wondered: “Sky Sports or ITV for the #SuperBowlLIX, where do I go people?” someone else warned: “. Less ads than ITV and Sky will also be showing it in 4K HDR, unlike ITV who can barely manage a HD picture!”

Someone else raged: “If I had a pound for every time the ITVX player has buffered and/or crashed entirely in the 54 minutes since their SuperBowl coverage began, I’d have about 50 quid more than they’ve spent on their ‘studio’ there…”

Another viewer moaned: “I can’t watch the Super Bowl on ITV I need real commentary…”

While a fourth viewer echoed: “@ITV you don’t even have the correct audio feed!”

More fans chimed in: “Reminder if you’re new to NFL – do NOT watch ITV or Sky Sports coverage of the Super Bowl. Think you can get Gamepass for like 99p for today and watch the full American broadcast (with commercials). You wouldn’t watch American coverage of the Premier League.”

“These ITV commentators for the Super Bowl have it sounding like a regular day in the Prem,” somebody else chuckled.

ITV pundits for the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles game included two-time Super Bowl champ Osi Umenyiora and ex-cornerback Jason Bell, who has regularly appeared on Sky Sports.

Sky News, meanwhile, lined up Ndamukong Suh, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Phoebe Schecter, who is the ex-captain of the GB women’s NFL team.
