A young woman was stunned by her neighbour’s reaction after she text him asking him to stop his dog from using her garden as a toilet.

can make or break a – if you’re lucky enough to have decent neighbours, where you live can feel infinitely more peaceful. If, on the other hand, you’re unfortunate enough to be stuck living among bad neighbours, home quickly begins to feel quite hellish.

Negative neighbours can be eclectic – they could be interfering and nosy, inconsiderate with volume, messy, disrespectful, violent or worse.

One 18-year-old woman is living alone for the first time and sought advice after being unnerved by her neighbour’s response when she asked him to keep his , a pitbull named Bruno, from going to the toilet in her .

She shared screenshots of the text exchange in the popular group, Am I Overreacting? and penned: “This is not a conversation between adults, we’re young adults. I was frustrated and texted him about it and this is the attitude. I’m so done. It’s my first time living alone, is this normal or am I overreacting?”

In the first message, which she sent to her neighbour at 1am, she wrote: “Hello, I’m [blank]. I’ve already mentioned Bruno using my front yard as a toilet to you, but you seem to be taking no action? Please train him or keep him within your boundaries.”

Unimpressed, her neighbour replied with a sweary response. They said: “At 1am midnight for f***s sake. You sound like he’s doing it NOW.”

He then added a baffling query: “Why the f*** you so polite for? We’re almost the same age” before he continued: “And, I’VE ALREADY told you I’LL clean it. It’s not my problem that you clean it before I do. This s*** ain’t a f***ing competition. It’s something so silly what the f*** are you getting so worked up for???”

In response, the young woman wrote: “I apologise for the ungodly hour I brought this up. I prefer my front yard with no dog s***. I clean it because you refuse to do it on time. I can’t just let it be dirty for weeks. The last time I waited for almost a WEEK before I did it myself. When were you even planning to do that? It’s gross and it stinks. He did this evening and I’ll have to clean it up because WHEN WILL YOU??”

Her neighbour retorted, branding her “so dramatic” before sending a string of messages in quick succession that read: “Well clean it up yourself if you’re so impatient. I can’t train him, he’s too aggressive, bear with it. Don’t text me about this s*** anymore or I’m f***ing blocking you. Nosy overdramatic b****”.

The woman was floored by the exchange and sought the opinions of internet strangers for guidance. One person suggested: “Get a shovel and loft the dog’s poop onto his roof.”

Someone else agreed: “Front porch so he steps in it when he walks out. Every time.”

And a third added: “And if he complains, send him a screenshot of his own text that says ‘nosy overdramatic b****’ or ‘it’s something so silly what the f*** you getting so worked up for’.”

Others advised her to report him. Not only were they concerned about the dog fouling, they also took issue with his messages.

Not only was he aggressive to his neighbour, some fear the dog is out of control. It’s definitely not an easy situation to deal with, that’s for sure!
