presenter Steve Brown shared some exciting personal news in the latest episode. The show kicked off with a London-based couple, newlyweds Georgina and Bryan, seeking to swap city life for the tranquillity of the Kent countryside.
With a generous budget of £1.35 million, they were on the lookout for a detached four-bedroom property with up to two acres of land for their dogs, an annexe for visiting family, and a commute to London within an hour, reports
This particular house hunt held special significance for host Steve Brown, as he hails from Kent himself. As he navigated the scenic country roads en route to meet the couple, he expressed his enthusiasm for helping them find their dream home in his home county, especially since they planned to start a family there.
He said: “Look, I know how lucky I am. Travelling up and down the country, helping people find their dream home on Escape.

“But there’s nothing like helping a couple move to my county of Kent. It does put a little bit more pressure on me to deliver.
“I’ve got faith in Kent, and it’s a great place to raise a family, too. Well, I hope so, because very soon I’m going to become a father for the first time.”
Upon meeting Georgina and Bryan, he reiterated his affection for Kent and was curious about their reasons for choosing it.
Bryan revealed that they were scouting for potential homes beyond the hustle of London, yet within a manageable distance for work commitments. He shared: “We have to commute in occasionally for work.”

Georgina was particularly charmed by Kent’s coastal offerings, seeing it as an added perk for leisurely days by the sea. She expressed to Steve: “Kent just had everything we wanted.”
Bryan also noted their desire to raise a family away from the urban intensity of the Capital.
Their property hunt, with a generous budget of £1.35 million, led them to view several stunning options. It was the second property that captured their affection, and by the episode’s close, they informed Steve of plans for a follow-up viewing.

Yet, as the show wrapped up, audiences discovered that the couple’s journey took a different turn.
Steve’s voiceover disclosed: “They have had an offer accepted on a house with an annexe and two acres of land in Staplehurst. Welcome to my turf guys, I look forward to seeing you around.”
Escape to the Country continues weekdays on One from 3pm.
