Tragically, on December 5, 2022, Kirstie Alley passed away at the age of 71 after a private battle with cancer. The comedy icon’s sudden and tragic death happened just months after her appearance on the show.

Her children, True and Lillie Parker, shared in a statement: “We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered.”

They continued: “She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead.”

Bob Saget, the beloved comedian and Full House star, took on the persona of Squiggly Monster during his stint on The Masked Singer in 2020. Reflecting on his time on the show, Saget shared: “I really love making people laugh.”

Tragically, on January 9, 2022, Bob was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida, and was later pronounced dead at the age of 65. The cause of his death was determined to be head trauma.

According to the medical examiner, he accidentally hit the back of his head, likely on a hard surface, and then went to sleep, unaware of the severity of his injury. The autopsy revealed no drugs or alcohol were involved.

The Masked Singer US honoured late star Leslie Jordan back in 2022 in an emotional tribute after the stand-in judge tragically passed away in a car accident.

Fox announced on Twitter: “The following episode of The Masked Singer is dedicated to a beloved member of the Fox family. Leslie Jordan, 1955-2022,” The actor and comedian and former guest judge died in a car crash at age 67.

The tweet quickly garnered thousands of likes, with one fan commenting: “I remember him on this show and we really miss him”. During the episode, filmed before Jordan’s death, he filled in for Ken Jeong, receiving warm hugs from host Nick Cannon and judge Robin Thicke.

Jordan joked at the time: “I seldom get invited back anywhere, so it’s exciting!” The show concluded with a montage of Jordan’s best moments on the show, which left viewers deeply moved.

One viewer remarked: “Such an amazing tribute to him,” while another shared: “I lasted the whole episode while being sad, but not crying. Then that ending… legit crying.”

In October 2022, television icon Jerry Springer graced the stage of The Masked Singer as the enigmatic Beetle. Reflecting on his participation, Springer remarked: “Actually it wasn’t difficult. When I first got the call, I said, who is this really?”

Kermit the Frog joined Springer on stage during his performance of ‘s The Way You Look Tonight. Springer said of his experience: “I knew I wasn’t going anywhere because I only had that one song.”

Tragically, just months after his appearance, Springer passed away in April 2023 at the age of 79. A family spokesperson confirmed that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a few months prior to his death.

Springer chose to keep his diagnosis private, with his representative stating: “While the family knew the diagnosis, he preferred the larger public not know until his passing.”
