As Holly gasped at his joke, the camera cut away to see Love Island star Chris rehearsing before taking to the ice. Stephen also made jokes about “buttered muffins” and “getting his pompoms out”.
Unimpressed fans rushed to social media to comment on the “inappropriate joke”, as one said: “With @ITV being in the midst of the Gino scandal, you’d think they’d be a bit more careful about golden shower jokes on a family show #dancingonice.”
Another added: “So we are cancelling Gino but not Mulhern for his comments? Bit cold to get his Pom poms out? Make it make sense.”
