The wrestling world was rocked on May 23, 1999, when Canadian wrestler Owen Hart tragically died in a live stunt gone horribly wrong. Known as The King of Harts, Owen’s career took a heartbreaking turn during a pay-per-view event, Over the Edge, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Owen was set to make a dramatic entrance as his alter ego, The Blue Blazer, by descending into the ring from the arena rafters. It was intended to be a comedic, superhero-style stunt. However, the safety harness malfunctioned, causing Owen to fall approximately 78 feet, landing chest-first on the ring ropes.
The horrifying accident unfolded in front of a stunned audience, with many at first believing it to be part of the show. The broadcast quickly cut away, but the tragedy became undeniable as paramedics rushed to the ring.
Despite being transported to the hospital, Owen was pronounced dead due to internal bleeding caused by blunt force trauma. He was just 34 years old.

The show was being broadcast live on ITV as part of the variety programme Live From Her Majesty’s. Midway through his act, Cooper collapsed while performing one of his signature routines. At first, the audience erupted into laughter, believing it to be part of his act. Even the production crew hesitated, thinking it was a classic Cooper gag.
However, as the minutes ticked by, the grim reality became apparent. Behind the curtain, frantic efforts were made to revive him, but Cooper had suffered a massive heart attack and passed away. His death left fans devastated and marked one of the most shocking moments in live television history.

After performing at The Plaza Live in Orlando, Florida, the 22-year-old stayed behind to meet fans during an autograph signing session. As she greeted her admirers, a man approached her, drew a firearm, and opened fire.
Grimmie’s brother, Marcus, tackled the assailant, but it was too late—the singer succumbed to her injuries shortly afterward. The gunman took his own life on the scene.
