The mother remarked: “Belle is allowed to tell little porky pies,” and challenged the critics by saying: “Who the hell doesn’t tell a lie in their life? Nobody complained about Belle when she was helping people and now they want to put her under the microscope.”

The infamous wellness blogger gained notoriety through , establishing a wellness empire that featured The Whole Pantry app and a bestselling cookbook.

In a significant blow to her credibility, it was revealed in 2015 that Gibson had failed to fulfill her pledge to donate a portion of her profits to charity, leading to a media storm.
