Nobody expects another country to finish below Italy or Wales this year, especially after their opening weekend’s results.

The difference between finishing fifth and sixth is pretty inconsequential. The pride of your country is hurt, but it already will be languishing that far down the table anyway.
There have been tentative calls in the past to have a seventh nation added to the Championships. But a relegation spot would be the perfect way to let the players stew over their failures.
And it would bring matches between the teams at the bottom to boiling point.
