I rarely shop for clothes, usually only once or twice annually because I tend to look for pieces that will earn a permanent spot in my rotation for years. Surprisingly, of all the clothing that I bought in 2024, some of my top purchases came from the same retailer: Banana Republic Factory, which was pretty new on my radar.
You may have shopped at Banana Republic, a low-end luxury brand for workplace and casual wardrobe staples that tend to hover around the $100-$200 mark. But you might not know that there’s a “factory” store offering similar styles for a lot less, in designs that are exclusive to BR Factory (so you can’t return BR Factory items to a Banana Republic store and vice versa). This is different from an outlet store, as BR Factory isn’t selling overstock or damaged and past-season items from Banana Republic. You’ll see “Made exclusively for Banana Republic Factory” in the product descriptions and the philosophy is the same as BR Factory’s sister brand Gap Factory (the factory store for Gap), which also produces its own designs with style and affordability in mind, rather than selling old Gap products.
In the case of BR Factory, I’d argue that the quality of their clothing is still generally excellent, and the lower prices make them all the more worth buying. Looking at some Reddit comments, it seems I’m not alone, with one commenter calling it a “best-kept secret” and multiple users mentioning that the brand runs true to size. BR Factory offers both men’s and women’s clothing and accessories in styles that are classic, versatile and have that touch of Banana Republic luxury. Plus, the retailer has somewhat frequent flash sales up to 50% off that drop prices even further. Below, I’ve rounded up the pieces that converted me into a fan of the Factory and some other reviewer-beloved options.

I didn’t think it was possible to get excited to put on officewear, but the Hayden Wide-Leg Pant changed my mind. I already own these in khaki and charcoal, but they also come in a bunch of other colors that I’m tempted to buy, too. The four-way stretch fabric is wrinkle-resistant, so I’m stress-free about wearing and washing them, and the half-elastic waist makes them so much more comfortable than other trousers I’ve tried in the past. The two front pockets are also super convenient, and the wide-leg silhouette is chic and classic. Grab a pair (or two) for yourself in women’s regular sizes 0-20 and petite sizes 00-18.
The second absolute winner for me from this brand is this vegan leather moto jacket. Admittedly, I got this for a steal during a Labor Day sale at $75 and the price has fluctuated since then, but given how much I’ve worn it, I can honestly say I’d pay full price for this.
The moto jacket style, with its many zippered pockets and relaxed boyfriend fit, adds an elevated edge to my most casual outfits, and the faux leather is so soft and actually keeps me warm. The attached buckle belt is removable. Plus, this is a true full-length jacket, and as someone who kept getting annoyed by the cropped fit of my last leather jacket, I’m a fan. One reviewer said these slim-fit pants are “nice enough to put a jacket to go to a meeting in but casual enough for hiking,” thanks to the soft and stretchy cotton blend fabric and the chino-like appearance. The pants have five pockets, belt loops and a zip fly, but don’t feel as restrictive as jeans. They’re also machine-washable, making them easy to take care of. Made with a soft cotton blend, this wouldn’t look out of place with jeans, trousers or a skirt. Like the last sweater, you’ll find ribbing on the neckline, arm cuffs and hem, and you can toss this baby right in the washing machine.

These shoes run large, so take that into account when choosing your size.

You can never go wrong with the timeless classic that is a trench coat, and this one from BR Factory appears to be a winner. It’s water-resistant, fully lined and has storm flaps and front pockets for function, but also features buckle cuffs, belted waist and double-breasted front buttons for style.
