Gino D’Acampo’s unique marriage to wife he ‘hardly ever sees’

took a fearless approach alongside his wife mere moments after “distressing” claims were levelled against him.

At 48 years old, the culinary Italian maestro is embroiled in accusations of “sexually inappropriate” conduct over a span of more than 12 years. Numerous individuals have come forward with descriptions of interactions ranging from “unacceptable, distressing and horrendous” to “distressing” and “unacceptable, distressing and horrendous”, all of which he vehemently denies.

Coinciding with News launching an investigation into the allegations, Gino uploaded a light-hearted video to featuring his wife, Jessica, and his friend . Captured entering a sumptuous setting, Fred is seen playfully taking Jessica’s arm, causing laughter amongst them as Jessica seems to remark: “I thought it was you.”

Gino humorously tagged the post: “When the wife chooses the wrong foreigner! GDx.”

The renowned personality first gained national attention through his appearances on This Morning and I’m A Celebrity. His marriage to Jessica Stellina Morrison spans two decades, and together they have three children: Luciano, 22, Rocco, 19, and Mia, 12.

The lovebirds met during their teen years working at an establishment in Marbella, and Gino attributes to Jessica the impetus for his relocation to Britain. Despite experiencing a brief separation previously, their paths crossed at the age when Gino was 18 and employed at Sylvester Stallone’s Mambo King eatery.

After a temporary split, the couple reunited in 1995 and eventually married in 2002. Gino has often spoken of their “traditional” marriage, telling the press: “I clean her car every week. I charge her toothbrush every time the battery is low, and I always bring her a bottle of cold water just in case she’s thirsty at night. My wife is a clever woman, she knows when to say something and when to bite her tongue.”

In an interview with the Daily Star, Gino shared his belief that the key to their marital bliss is allowing personal space. He explained: “We allow each other to have our own lives, that means going on holiday with our friends. My wife goes for dinner with male friends and I go for dinner with female friends or business friends. We are very relaxed.”

Gino even admitted to Love Sunday in 2014 that he and his wife Jessica spend little time together, a factor he thinks contributes to their long-lasting relationship. “Jessica and I don’t really spend any time together,” he said.

“I think that’s one of the reasons we’ve lasted for 20 years. It’s a good thing, I don’t really want to know everything my wife does, because otherwise she will be boring to me.”

The celebrity chef surprised his fans in 2023 by confessing to the Express that he seldom contacts Jessica while away for work. He stated: “What’s the point in bothering your wife to the point I need to pretend to want to make a phone call is insane! I don’t buy into it. I could be filming in Italy or somewhere in the world for two weeks and I would perhaps call my wife once, or twice.”

He disclosed that his marriage dynamic vastly contrasts that of his friends, pointing out how they frequently call their spouses during lads’ nights out. He shared: “I’m always the one who complains and they explain that if they don’t, their wife will be angry at them tonight.”

Gino went on to question the nature of his friends’ partnerships, deeming it “crazy”.

The celebrity has humorously declared before that traditional romance isn’t his style, though he opts for gifting diamonds when he’s been in the doghouse. “I don’t care about flowers or chocolates or anything like that, that’s not me,” he stated.

The culinary star revealed that his other half serves up his beloved pasta dish as a peace offering. On the topic, he remarked: “She always does that for me, especially when she wants to be forgiven. When I want to be forgiven, I’m going for the sweet option, so chocolate cake with homemade ice cream well, actually, if I’ve been really bad it’s a new car or a diamond.”

When quizzed about the frequency of his appeals for pardon, Gino chuckled and commented: “Let’s put it this way, in the last five years, she’s changed her car three times… I still haven’t changed mine once.”

Gino and Jessica boast two beautiful abodes: the first, a stunning Grade II-listed seven-bedroom townhouse in Hertfordshire, and for getaways, a charming holiday home nestled on the sun-drenched shores of Sardinia where they spend a good half of the year. Gino disclosed to Woman magazine about their approaches to raising children: “You can see my wife look at the children, saying with her eyes ‘Don’t even think about it, he’s not going to bend’.”

The celebrity chef maintains firm rules when it comes to mealtimes, sharing his no-nonsense philosophy: “My kids are not allowed to be fussy eaters. The problem with fussy children is their stupid parents. I run a family kitchen and in my house we don’t have options. I never had options, why should they?”
