However, what these boozy travellers don’t know is that a pre-flight beverage might not be a good idea.

“The one thing I would truly avoid is any alcohol before a flight. Most people don’t know it affects you twice as much whilst in the air, so you’re more likely to feel the effects than on the ground.”
He also added that it’s a good idea to have a decent meal before boarding the plane.
Horowitz said: “Personally, if I was travelling as a passenger, I would eat a big meal to make sure that I’m tired and can get some rest on the flight.”
When it comes to the most common mistakes people make on flights, Horowitz said being late was one of the most significant ones.

“I would always plan to be at the airport 2-3 hours ahead of departure as well as being at the gate when they start boarding, to ensure a stress-free experience.”
In addition, another common mistake is not booking an in-flight meal.
He said: “I would also recommend that passengers order any special meals in advance. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, make sure to arrange this accordingly with the airline and confirm your special meal is booked.
“As well as pre-ordering a meal, I always recommend bringing food with you that fits your diet or allergy, just in case there is anything suitable on offer on board.”
