A historic year in F1 will be launched at the O2 arena this month, but for some fans, all will not be as it seems. This year the sport celebrates its 75th anniversary and the occasion will be marked with an event that will bring all 20 drivers to London at the same time.

The official F1 2025 launch takes place on February 18, with the two-hour show getting under way at 8pm.

Over the course of the evening, every team will have its moment in the spotlight to unveil their liveries for the year ahead and show off their driver line-ups.

The launch defies the annual pre-season tradition of teams organising their own unveilings at different venues. And the magnitude of the occasion at the O2 is reflected in the ticket prices, with some set to pay more than £1,000 to be in attendance.

On , F1 followers will have to fork out £1,180 to take their place in the prime seats. The cheapest available ticket on the site stands at £218.

But to rub salt into the wounds of those who have already parted with considerable sums, it will only be the 2025 liveries on the show – and not the actual cars that and co will drive. It’s a factor that a number of fans are likely to be unaware of.

However, this is nothing new in F1. It’s common for team cars to be unveiled in pre-season and then take on an entirely different look when it comes to their first testing session or the opening Grand Prix weekend.

Indeed, many teams have already confirmed dates where fans can get a first glimpse of new vehicles. Ferrari’s own event will take place just a day after the night of the O2, with the Italian team launching their cars at their Fiorano test track in Maranello.

meanwhile, will mark the start of the post-Hamilton era by revealing their W16 cars on February 24. Haas are due to do similar during a filming day at Silverstone on February 16, but the new livery will be kept under wraps until the official launch event.

Don’t miss…

Pre-season testing for the 2025 season will take place in Bahrain on February 26, 27 and 28. Some teams have already taken to the track in preparation but with drivers using vehicles from past seasons.

The opening race weekend of the campaign takes place in from March 14-16. It is the first of 21 Grands Prix, with the season culminating in Abu Dhabi over the first weekend of December.
