New cold have revealed a -11C blast is set to smash into the UK as freezing weather engulfs the country.
WXCharts has forecast the wintry weather will arrive on February 18, bringing with it plummeting temperatures, rain and the chance of .
Temperatures will be lowest in central Scotland (Aberdeen, Inverness), where it will hit lows of -11C. After that, it will be coldest in north and south Scotland (Wick, Edinburgh, Dumfries), between -3C and -8C.
The North of England (Carlisle, Newcastle, Manchester, Sheffield) will experience temperature lows of between -4C and -6C, while Wales could hover around -5C.
The Midlands (Birmingham, Milton Keynes) and the East of England could see lows of between -2C and -4C, and the South of England and Northern Ireland might also dip below freezing.

There will be some rain along the west coast and Northern Ireland, and snow in central Scotland.
The has said of the period (February 12-21): “High pressure is expected to be slow-moving and centred to the North-east of the UK at the start of this period.
“As a result, east or southeasterly winds will dominate, these bringing below-normal temperatures across the UK from mainland Europe.
“Some rain and hill snow is likely at times, particularly across the east of the UK, with the best of any sunny periods probably in the west. It will be breezy around coasts, but the risk of any very strong winds is low.
“During the second half of this period, a change to milder and more unsettled conditions will probably begin to occur. Exactly how this manifests is uncertain, but there will be an increasing chance of rain and strong winds spreading from the Atlantic across the UK.”

Largely cloudy with occasional rain, and also hill snow in the north. Some clearer spells, especially northern Scotland and southern England, giving a risk of a frost here.

Another rather cloudy and cold day with some further spells of rain and drizzle, especially in the east. Brightest conditions in sheltered parts of the west and northwest.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Remaining rather cold throughout with plenty of cloud around. Risk of some further rain at times, especially in the east, with some sleet and snow possible, mainly over hills.
