has revealed his daughter wanted to be partnered by a different Formula One driver than for the 2025 season.
announced that Lawson would be joining the Dutchman as his team-mate for the new campaign, which is due to begin next month in Bahrain.
While the 22-year-old was Horner’s favoured choice to replace , the New Zealand driver wasn’t at the top of the list of his daughter, Olivia, 11.
Horner has two biological children, sharing Olivia with his ex Beverley Allen and Montague, seven, with his current wife and former Spice Girl Geri Haliwell-Horner.
He is also stepdad to Bluebell, 18, whom Geri shares with her previous partner Sacha Gervasi.
According to young Olivia, there is one driver in particular who has caught her eye – and it’s not Verstappen or Lawson for that matter.
When asked for his opinion on the best-looking F1 driver in an interview with Tiktoker Bella James at the Autosport Awards, Horner awkwardly stumbled for an answer.
“Well, look… my daughter would love us to sign Charles Leclerc,” the boss said, before adding: “They all have their charm.”

It was a pertinent question for Horner given that he previously suggested that the new generation of female F1 fans were interested because of how certain drivers looked.
The 51-year-old appeared to be uncomfortable when James referenced his remarks, asking: “Did you ever consider that it [girls’ interest] is because of the team principals?”
When it was suggested that boss was one of the more handsome team principals on the grid, Horner sensed the opportunity to take a cheeky jab at his rival.
“I’m not sure. I’m not a member of the fan club,” Horner joked.

Unfortunately for the Horner household, Leclerc is tied down to until 2028 and doesn’t look likely to leave anytime soon.
Instead, Lawson has been promoted from their sister team Visa Cash App Racing Racing Bulls () to replace Perez as their second driver, having been chosen ahead of following a post-season test in 2024.
The Kiwi racer hasn’t had the easiest journey to landing a seat with the Austrian manufacturer, having driven for for five races before dropping behind as their reserve.
But after Ricciardo left the team towards the end of last season, Lawson was handed a chance to demonstrate his talent and he finished ninth – a career-high – twice over the space of six races.
